Dear Diego,
Thank you for the follow up call, after all without you there wouldn't have been an Argentina. Your thoughtfulness and care made everyday exciting and well worth the visit.
Sincerely, Mary Lewis.
Puerto Madryn is a charming Atlantic seaside city best known for its access to the Gulfo San Jose and Gulfo Nuevo off the Valdes Peninsula. Its rugged coastline boasts an array of cliffs, rocky reefs, and hidden coves. The 1400 acre Valdes Peninsula reserve, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, is rich in marine life, such as the southern elephant seal, sea lion, and southern right whale. A colony of more than 800 seals live all the year round on the sandbank of Punta Loma. Seasonal whale watching boat tours can yield sightings of dolphins, elephant seals, sea lions, orcas, and Magellan penguins. Peninsula Valdes has the largest population of southern right whales, and whales come within 700 feet of the shore. Terrestrial fauna include guanacos, Patagonian hare, grey foxes, armadillos, and Darwin’s rheas. The port town, founded by a Welshman, is lined with trees, hotels, restaurants, and bars. Activities like kayaking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and sand boarding are popular.
